Sustainable Agriculture

and

Grass Fed Beef

Buying Grass-Fed beef from Kokte Ranch and Nature Preserve supports local sustainable agriculture and restoration of the Jacoby Creek watershed.  Jacoby Creek Land Trust offers grass fed beef raised without antibiotics, growth hormones, herbicides or pesticides.

Cattle grazing at Kokte Ranch benefits wildlife that also live at Kokte; grass shoots provide sustenance for once-endangered Aleutian cackling geese. Attracted to this high protein forage in the wintertime, these migratory birds represent some of the wildlife that put the “nature preserve” in Kokte Ranch and Nature Preserve.

Proceeds from the sale of beef support conservation projects at Kokte such as restoring native plant communities while removing invasive plants along the publicly accessible riparian trail and wetlands.  The Jacoby Creek trail is open during daylight hours and includes interpretive activities for visitors of all ages.

Beef can be purchased one of two ways:  whole or half steers or individual cuts by the pound.
